by Díaz. Deals with the latter's career and his opinions on public questions, including incidental information on Benito Pablo
Juárez and the State of Oaxaca.
Appended (p. 513-560) are transcripts of information dictated to Bancroft in the house of Manuel Romero Rubio in January,
1884, regarding the lives of Romero, José María Iglesias, and Juan N. Méndez, followed by general information on the development
of Mexico. Includes receipt for transcription, 1884 Jan. 8.
